Opening a restaurant has been a dream of mine for quite a few years. However, the state of the economy and how expensive it is to open and run a restaurant was a daunting task. I was looking for a way to get my foot in the food industry sector, but on my terms. I joined a local social club, and almost immediately began to volunteer my time in the kitchen serving meals during Bills games. It was nothing fancy. Just some homemade food to serve to the patrons of the club as they gathered to watch the games. Mostly soup and sandwich combos. I pushed the envelope and served some not so run of the mill combos. With every meal that was served, I was greeted by our diners and told how much they enjoyed their meal. With this, I would be asked to come up with a menu for their quarterly steak roasts. The food was again a big hit, and quite a change up from their regular fare. Due to the success of the steak roast I was asked to cater two different Polish Nights, showing off some of the skills I learned by watching my grandmother so many years ago. Both dinners were received with great reviews. Since then, I have catered Christmas Parties, Bowling Banquets and other social club functions with as many as 200 people.
With the success I encountered, and the experience I have gained, I then began contemplating my own catering business. After discussing with family and friends, they threw their total support behind me and the idea was off and running.
The name The Running Chef probably has piqued your interest. I am an avid runner. I was very active in the local race community, racing multiple times per week. Since then I have taken up running OCR's (Obstacle Course Races) such as Warrior Dash, Spartan Race and Tough Mudder for example. I combined my passion for cooking and my passion for OCR's and came up with The Running Chef.
Why should you choose The Running Chef? It's quite simple. I believe in homemade, rustic food. I use only the freshest ingredients (in season). Everything I make is homemade by my own two hands. I believe in comfort food that has tremendous flavor. Some of the dishes are dishes I learned while watching my grandmother that have been slightly modified. Others are some of my own creation.
In racing you never stop until you cross the finish line. The Running Chef has the same motto - YOUR EVENT IS OUR FINISH LINE.
We hope you give us the chance to cater your next party.
Caterer specializing in all homemade rustic food. Our motto " Your event is our finish line!"
